When you are highly motivated for change, hypnotherapy provides a quick and effective way to easily shift long standing thought patterns and behavioural habits, fear associations and addictions in your subconscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is very powerful and it directs the course of your life. It accounts for nearly 95% of the mind and from birth onwards, learned associations are made that can create lifelong reactions and patterns of behaviour. Even with you being fully aware that a particular reaction or pattern is unwanted, these patterns will continue despite logic, reason or willpower unless we make the change at the subconscious level and adjust your programming under hypnosis.

You have been in a light hypnotic trance thousands of times without knowing it- you go through hypnosis while falling asleep and waking up, while watching the TV or reading a book, or perhaps you’ve driven somewhere and realised you didn’t remember part of the journey. All of these occurred when your brain waves changed naturally and you went into hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation with an acute awareness. The critical mind, which normally blocks anything it believes to not be true, is temporarily suspended and it becomes possible to change ways of thinking, behaviour patterns and reactions. In this state you can create lasting changes to the subconscious mind by making positive suggestions, releasing and reprogramming thought patterns.

Hypnotherapy is not at all like the stage hypnosis you may have seen in the past. It is not being asleep, unconscious or out of your own control. You will not do anything you don’t want to do. There is nothing strange, supernatural or anti-religious about it.

As your Hypnotherapist, I guide you into this state of altered perception and utilise this state to make desired changes that we have discussed during the appointment. You will feel very relaxed and at ease throughout.

During our sessions, I combine the power of hypnosis with coaching, working with you to provide you with tools and strategies that you can utilise on a daily basis, in addition to the deeper subconscious shifts.

We will first have a discussion around your desired outcome and some background on the issues you have been experiencing. Your treatment plan will be bespoke to you and tailored to your unique needs to get you where you want to be. During the hypnosis itself, all you need to do is sit back and relax, I will work with the subconscious mind to make positive suggestions and create new associations that are in line with your desired outcome.

 

Working this way is effective and potentially life changing, the unconscious mind has an astonishing ability to heal itself both emotionally and physically.

You will leave the session feeling good and equipped with new tools to help you for the rest of your life.

While conventional therapy can help you to understand the patterns of your past and what brought you to this point, hypnotherapy focuses more on changing those patterns moving forward.

​

A study by Dr Alfred Barrios, featured in The Psychotherapy Journal of the American Psychiatric Association states that Hypnotherapy has approximately a 93% recovery rate after 6 sessions, compared to Psychoanalysis having approximately 38% recovery rate after 600 sessions.

These are average numbers and some issues would be overcome in a great deal less than 6 hypnotherapy sessions and likewise, some may require more.

Hypnotherapy is a naturally occurring state that we all enter into on a daily basis when we are falling asleep/ waking up, or when we're doing something that has become second nature to us, such as doing the dishes or driving a familiar route. In this state your analytical, conscious mind becomes relaxed and daydreams, and your subconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to communication.
