Hypnotherapy is not stage hypnosis

Most people think of a man on a stage making people cluck like a chicken when it comes to hypnosis and are pleasantly surprised when they find out that hypnotherapy is not the same thing! 

​

Hypnosis is a natural brain wave state that we all enter into every day. We move through the Theta and Delta state as we fall asleep/ when we awaken, and if we are performing a task that has become second nature to us such as driving a familiar route or doing the dishes. In hypnosis we utilise this state as the analytical, conscious mind becomes relaxed and daydreams, and the subconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to suggestions that can change core beliefs, patterns of behaviour, thoughts, feelings and habits.

The subconscious mind accounts for about 95% of our mind. It goes beyond learning new skills. It's involved in information processing and affects everything we think, say and do. It is akin to a big data bank, recording everything that happens in our life since birth, and stores our beliefs and values, determines our memories and monitors the information all around us, deciding what to send to the conscious mind and what to store for later.​ If you make changes at a subconscious level, you can change your outward behaviours, coping mechanisms and reactions. In short, with the right suggestions you can feel like a whole new person!

I'm a certified Stress Management Consultant, providing corporate wellbeing services, workplace wellness days and mindset training.  I have a corporate background as senior recruitment manager in both the UK and USA; so I know well the pressures and demands that come with performing at a high level and trying to balance that with your personal life, and I'm dedicated to helping individuals achieve optimal mental wellbeing to be the best they can be and prevent stress and burnout.
