Neuro—Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro-linguistic programming is a way of changing thoughts and behaviours to help you to achieve your desired goals. It works with the principles of Neuroscience, which explain how Neural Pathways in the brain communicate messages to the mind and the body.

NLP is not hypnotherapy. Instead, it operates through the conscious use of language to bring about changes in someone’s thoughts and behaviour.

NLP was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who believed it was possible to identify the patterns of thoughts and behaviours of successful individuals and developed ways to teach these patterns to others.

From birth onwards, learned associations are made that can create lifelong patterns of behaviour. These can keep us stuck and hold us back from realising our full potential. These patterns operate on an unconscious level and become a frustration for us, causing inner conflict as we know that we want to change but something seems to keep getting in the way of our progress.

The good news is- anything that the brain has learnt, that is no longer useful to us, can be ‘un-learnt’. Using NLP we can build new patterns in the brain which bring about positive thoughts, feelings, reactions and behaviours. We can literally ’re-programme’ your brain and in changing your thinking, you can begin the steps to changing your life.
